My WAHM Adventure
Hello, In April 2010 I decided to start my own home-based business making handmade hats for small children. Two years, two Etsy shops and 400 sales later, I am feeling awesome! What started as a small idea has turned out to be more successful that I ever expected. Surprisingly, the satisfaction I get in making something I love, has been the true "success" of this whole adventure.

I'm in creative mode again!
I don't know how many of you are WAHM/artisans but the creative juices are always flowing and in my situation, ie. making hats, I cannot keep up with my ideas. It would be so nice to make something new and sell it but it takes time for me to get the item right, then I need to arrange to have someone photograph it and then finally I can sell it!
I've recently tried a new pattern and yarn. Although I didn't like the pattern, I did modify an old pattern, using some touches from the new pattern and voila I have a hat that I really love. Love enough to sell! The new yarn is a cotton/acrylic mix and fells oh-so-nice! I cannot wait to give it a wash and see how it does. I'm hoping it washes up great! Then if it does, I need to make the hat in various sizes and colors. And only then can I get them photographed. All this while filling orders and taking care of my two little girls. It is so exciting and just wish I had more hours in the day to get it all done faster! Oh well, patience is a virture, right?
I can't wait to show you all pictures!
