My WAHM Adventure

Hello, In April 2010 I decided to start my own home-based business making handmade hats for small children. Two years, two Etsy shops and 400 sales later, I am feeling awesome! What started as a small idea has turned out to be more successful that I ever expected. Surprisingly, the satisfaction I get in making something I love, has been the true "success" of this whole adventure.

Getting things done!

I'm feeling pretty good today as I have almost completed a newborn hammock I am making for a local photographer in exchange for some photos of my girls in some of my hats.  There is a sneak peak on Amy Bailey's blog, http://amybaileyblog.blogspot.com/2010/10/cute-kids.html  I can't wait to see all of the photos she took and getting them up on my Etsy shop.

I'm also working on my last women's newsboy hat.  I received the large wooden buttons that I'm going to put on the hat last week and I'm very happy with them.  The wooden buttons were purchased from another Etsian http://www.rememberwynn.etsy.com/.  She was so patient with me when I was going back and forth over what I wanted to see engraved on them!  I highly recommend her if you are looking for customized wooden buttons!  I'm hoping to get these women's newsboy hats photographed this week and up on my site as well!

I don't know how many of you run your own home-based business that is truly based on your creative ideas but I have to say the ideas don't stop!  I am constantly thinking about what to make next.  Now if there were more hours in a day, I could make my new ideas into products a whole lot faster!  Oh well, patience is a virtue, right?

And the most exciting news today is it's my daughter's 1st Birthday!  Wishing her an awesome birthday and a great second year, love you! xoxo
